Our luck with mammals took a turn for the better when we reached Sacha, and we were rewarded with views of 6 different species of monkeys there, including some close-up views of the big red howlers. During our stay at Tiputini, the haunting, low-pitched gravelly drone of the howlers often echoed across the forest.
