Hobo Whales
There are three resident pods of orcas that live in the San Juans, but on this day we were viewing a "transient" pod. The transients roam different territories all the way up to Alaska, and unlike the resident pods which mainly subsist on fish, transients prey mainly on other marine mammals. They're even different physiologically due to their predation habits and diet.
