July 14: Soon after arriving at our campground on the first day of our summer Yellowstone trip, our group decided to head south into Hayden Valley. It was fairly quiet until we spotted this young coyote slowing traffic up ahead. It kept darting into the road to examine what appeared to be roadkill. I took a few shots as it ventured out in front of a couple of harleys, as though it were a drum major leading the parade. The object of curiosity turned out to be an old glove, by the way.
