Best of 2008: Isaiah Thomas in Traffic

November 18: Isaiah Thomas' arrival at Washington was delayed a bit. The diminutive freshman took a detour from high school, attending prep school for a couple years on the east coast, but all the while holding firm on his commitment to play basketball for the Huskies. Thomas came in with an impressive résumé, including a Washington high school record of 51 points in a state playoff game. He also is the best hope for Washington—a team in dire need of backcourt scoring and ballhandling—to return to the Big Dance. To date, the Huskies are 9-3, and Thomas is second on the team in scoring and leads them in assists. So far so good.
