May 31: By the end of the May Yellowstone trip, I felt like I had been quite lucky. Each day treated us to a unique and thrilling wildlife sighting, from Rosie's cubs to an active badger den to a morning spent with wolves on a kill. The last morning of the trip, I had my best grizzly bear photo session to date. Dunraven Pass was crowded with onlookers, some of whom had been watching a grizzly sow and cub for hours by the time we arrived. The amount of traffic was causing headaches for park rangers down on the road, while the bears went about their business on the hillside above. Even amid the tumult, it was nice to get a glimpse of a seemingly private moment between mother and cub.
