Best of 2009: Husky Stadium tilt-shift

Photo(s) of the Year - November 21: Another bonus shot. This image of Husky Stadium is pretty, though nothing spectacular. However, it was taken one evening when I was out of the stadium practicing with my new lensbaby (a tilt-shift lens which creates the selective focus effect). I had proposed a stop motion video project to the UW, wanting to capture the entire Apple Cup game day experience using tilt-shift stop motion photography. Since this involved several techniques I was not familiar with, it was a daunting task. My assistant James Hart and I took over 29,000 photos during the entire day, which were edited down into a five minute video. Given the complexity of the project and my relative inexperience heading into it, I was extremely pleased with the results. It was my most rewarding photo experience of the year.
