Best of 2011: Husky Stadium Says Goodbye

November 5: Husky Stadium was first built in 1920 and has hosted hundreds of football games and other major sporting events since then. The first grandstand went up in 1950, and in 1987 a second grandstand was added on the north side. By 2011 the stadium was falling apart, and a major upgrade was needed.

This was the night Husky Stadium was hosting its final home game prior to renovation. Washington was hosting the Oregon Ducks, and I was on hand to capture a 360 FanCam image of the stadium. After I had finished shooting and editing the image, I walked over to the Arboretum to capture one final view of the old stadium from across the water.

This image was taken during the third quarter of the game. I can still hear the roar of the crowd echoing across the water.
