FAVORITE PHOTOS AND MOMENTS OF 2011: Well, this year certainly was... different. And frankly, if it weren't for a fantastic December, it would have been very disappointing.

On a personal and professional level the major change this year was the closure of my marketing company, which led to several questions about my career path and what it meant for my photography. It did mean that I had a bit of extra freedom to spend more time shooting locally (something I've been notoriously awful about in the past). Visits to Ocean Shores, the Skagit Valley, eastern Oregon and Vancouver Island all produced some wonderful wildlife encounters and photo opportunities. I was also able to maintain my tradition of visiting Yellowstone, spending time in the park during four separate trips.

On the sports front, I continued to cover Husky Football whenever possible, but those opportunities were limited thanks to my new responsibilites as a photographer for Gigapixel Fancam. My FanCam duties took me around the country, shooting 360 degree high definition panoramas at international soccer, college football and NFL game day locations.

If you are subscribed to my newsletter or follow me on Facebook, thanks for enjoying the ride with me this year.
