There are a ton of wildflowers up on Mt. Rainier and in the Paradise area right now. Unfortunately, you have to stick to the trails near Paradise so you can't find many good vantage points from which to photograph them. This was actually taken from the Pinnacle Saddle trail, which provides some stunning views of the mountain. Fortunately, some morning sunlight finally found the peak as I was working my way back down the trail, when I coincidentally came across some cooperative flowers.
This image is combined from three different exposures: the foreground flowers, the trees in the middle and the mountain, which was shot with help from a GND filter.
btw- you can see the Paradise Inn (where we stayed) in this shot, along the middle right edge of the image. All those green slopes and ridges make up Paradise.
