Snowy Owls 2011 Photos : 2005 Photos

Snowy Owls, 2011
Ever since I photographed the 2005-06 snowy owl irruption I've been waiting for them to return. This time, armed with better equipment and a little more seasoning, I was ready when the snowies began to reappear in the Lower 48. I traveled to Ocean Shores, where the owls like to hang out at Damon Point, and spent two days with them. It's a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to the next irruption.

If you would like to join me on a snowy owl photo excursion, it's not too late! Check out my 2012 snowy owl photo tour.
