In February 2007 I visited my parents in Uppsala, Sweden. I was only in Sweden for a week, and decided at the last minute to seek out the aurora borealis (northern lights), which I had
never seen or photographed. This involved flying north of the Artic Circle to the towns of Kiruna and Abisko, which also happen to be near the world famous Ice Hotel.
After some very cold nights without much luck, the lights finally appeared on my final night in the frozen north. You'll find the best aurora photos here, as well as a few images from
Stockholm, Uppsala and the Ice Hotel.
