Out of Water?
A hippo makes its way between stretches of a muddy watering hole. During the day, hippos are a rare sight on land, as they prefer to cool themselves in rivers and ponds. During our second morning in the crater, we came across a younger hippo out on its own in the grassland. Only when we came closer did we realize it was out of its element due to an unsuccessful lion attack during the night.
