On Their Own
This lioness and her twins were part of a larger family we found resting in the middle of the day in Ngorongoro Crater. The other lionesses in the pride got up and headed toward the lake, perhaps to find some tasty zebra tapas, but momma hung back. She took off in the opposite direction with the twins in tow. They crossed the road right in front of us and headed out into the grassland.
