Vervet Monkey
Chlorocebus pygerythrus
This is just a baby, but the adult male vervets are reknown for their distinctive bright blue "potatoes," which are a sign of dominance. During a lunch stop in Tarangire, vervet monkeys were constantly approaching us until one was actually bold enough to hop onto the table and steal a banana from our lunch box. Immediately afterward, a green mamba came out of the grass and also climbed up onto the table before being coaxed away by our guide. It was an eventful lunch.
