A mighty "coo" lounges in the Orkney Islands. We traveled to the Orkneys, north of the Scottish mainland, despite advice to avoid the isles at this time of the year. Suffice to say, we lucked out. This far north, we only had 5-6 hours of daylight, but we enjoyed clear weather and were able to take in the beauty of this simple landscape and its ancient archaeological sites.
