In late June and early July, it's easy to spot American white pelicans on the Yellowstone River, particularly near the Fishing Bridge area where trout are spawning.
The pelicans will let the current carry them lazily as they keep an eye out for fish, and will eventually take to the air and fly back upstream to repeat the process.
