Fly, Fly Away
On my way up into Yellowstone from the Grand Tetons, all was quiet. This immature red-tailed hawk was the first animal I saw, half-way past Yellowstone Lake. It was fairly patient with me as I took a circuitous route around the edge of the meadow it was scouting and set my tripod up a ways away. Though I rarely succeed in getting decent shots of raptors in flight, I keep trying. This time I was rewarded with okay results.
