Jaywalker?
There's a scene in the movie Collateral (which I love), in which everything slows and nearly comes to a standstill as a coyote crosses a Los Angeles street in the middle of the night. This is not LA, just Little America in Yellowstone, but I imagine that time nearly stood still as this coyote crossed the pavement, paused at the edge, and then moved off into the sagebrush.
