Hey, I Knew That Guy
A bison pays homage to its fallen comrade, a fellow bison that was stuck in thick mud and perished several weeks beforehand. Grizzlies finally pulled the carcass out, and it was worked over by bears, wolves and this coyote for several days.

Bison and many other large herding mammal species (cape buffalo and elephants among them) seem to be able to recognize their own, even long after death. This particular animal wasn't simply grazing in the area by coincidence. Several members of the herd came and huddled around the carcass.
