I went to the park to celebrate the new year for a few days, and then returned somewhat unexpectedly for a week-long trip with friends in early February. The trips were highlighted by an exciting encounter between an otter and a coyote, some red fox sightings, my first ermine photos (albeit from far away) and my first winter trip into Yellowstone's interior.
