Costa Rica Photo Tour: Quetzals to Corcovado
March 25 – April 2, 2023 : FULL
Join me on an exciting Costa Rica wildlife adventure! This popular tour takes us to some of the best places for wildlife photography in the entire country. We’ll seek out the resplendent quetzal and other birds in the highlands, colorful frogs, birds and mammals on the central Caribbean slope, and more mammals, owls, aquatic birds and large crocodiles on the Pacific coast. For the truly adventurous, the optional extension takes us to Corcovado National Park.

Here’s a general outline of the itinerary:
March 25, 2023: Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica
March 26 – 27: Los Angeles Cloud Forest (Resplendent Quetzal, birds, mammals, herps, night walk)
March 28 – 29: Sarapiqui (Birds, mammals, herps, including day visit and night walk at La Selva Biological Station)
March 30 – 31: Central Pacific Region (Carara National Park, Tarcoles River cruise… mammals, birds—owls???)
April 1: Return to San Jose OR depart for Corcovado Extension
April 2: Folks who don’t participate in the extension fly home
Optional Corcovado Extension:
April 1: Arrive Corcovado NP, Sirena Station… afternoon exploration
April 2 – 3: Sirena Station
April 4: Morning exploration, depart for San Jose
April 5: Flights home
