Visit one of the most unique wildlife destinations on the planet: the Galapagos Islands!

A trip to the Galapagos is nothing like you’ve ever experienced. A mix of close encounters and photo opportunities with exotic and unique species, along with some fun and relaxation in the form of daily snorkeling excursions (which also provide some good wildlife viewing opportunities!). The Galapagos island chain maintains an image that is at times mysterious, exotic and sometimes fragile. This unique ecosystem, sprouted around a series of island volcanoes that remain active, became famous for unique wildlife that has evolved in isolation. Animals like the giant tortoise, marine iguanas and Darwin’s famous finches are endemic—they’re found nowhere else on earth.

This is a fun photo adventure, emphasizing exploration and photography in the field rather than classwork. Max will be there to shoot alongside you and help provide optional instruction and tips on photography. This trip is a bit more casual than other photo tours, because most days are split between a land excursion (casual walks and hikes in search of wildlife) and a sea excursion. We will have opportunities to get in the water and snorkel with sea lions, turtles, iguanas, penguins and many exotic fish species. The Galapagos experience is likely to be one of the funner wildlife photography trips you’ll ever take, which is why it’s a great trip for even casual wildlife enthusiasts or “photographer spouses” who may not be as intent on shooting all day.

About the Wildlife

The Galapagos is one of the few places you can go that exceeds what you might see on TV in terms of the proximity of the wildlife. This is a fragile environment, so our goal is to leave the islands in the same condition they were in before our arrival, but we’ll still manage incredibly close encounters with a variety of species.
